Google’s AI answers.

When someone asks Google a question now, an AI answer often sits above every result. For one of our clients it answers with his prices, by name. Here’s what we saw work, what didn’t, and what you can do this week.

What happened for one Deeside business

Deeside Architectural Design’s site went live in July 2026. Ask Google about house extension plans in Deeside, Mold or Hawarden now, and its AI Overview answers with Mike’s fees and credits his business by name. In Mold, it quoted fixed fees from around £750 through Deeside Architectural Design. He doesn’t even have a Mold page. The screenshots are on the proof page, and his September report is public.

First, the honest bit. Nobody can promise that Google’s AI will name your business, and anyone who does is guessing. What you can do is make your business easy to read, easy to trust and easy to quote.

What we learned, town by town

  • Depth beats a page per town. Mike was quoted in a town he has no page for. What seems to earn it is answering the questions people actually ask (costs, planning, what’s involved) on a site Google already trusts for the area.
  • Prices get quoted. A clear, published price is exactly the kind of thing an AI answer lifts. Vague “call for a quote” pages give it nothing to use.
  • Small places get no AI answer at all. In villages there wasn’t an AI Overview for anyone, because there isn’t enough search. That’s normal, and it isn’t your site’s fault.

What to do this week

  1. Publish your prices, even as “from” prices or a range. A cost estimator is the strongest version.
  2. Answer your top ten customer questions on your site in plain words, one clear answer each. The questions you get asked on the phone are the ones people type.
  3. Give each service its own page. Say what it is, what it costs and where you do it.
  4. Finish your Google Business Profile. Add services, areas, photos and hours, and ask every happy customer for a review.
  5. Don’t block AI crawlers. Check that your site’s robots.txt doesn’t shut out Google, Bing or the AI tools.
  6. Get into Bing too. Copilot is built on Bing, and ChatGPT’s search uses Bing results, so set up Bing Webmaster Tools. It can copy your settings from Google Search Console in a minute.
  7. Don’t live only on Facebook. Much of what sits on social media is hard for search engines and AI tools to read. Your own website is the version of you they can read.

How to check whether it’s working

Search the question your customers ask, with your town, on Google and on Bing. Take a dated screenshot. Do it again next month. Bing Webmaster Tools also has an AI Performance report that shows how often you appear in Copilot answers. It’s the only official measure of this so far.

This is how every GetAPage site is built, and it’s what the monthly report checks. From £2,500, then £175 a month. See prices or build your quote.

Questions
we get asked.

How do I get my business in Google’s AI Overview?

No one can guarantee it. What helps is publishing clear prices, answering the questions customers actually ask, having a page for each service, a complete Google Business Profile, and not blocking search or AI crawlers.

Do I need a page for every town to appear in AI answers?

Not necessarily. We’ve seen a local business quoted in a town it has no page for. Depth on real questions and published prices seemed to matter more than thin town pages.

Does Bing matter for AI search?

Yes, more than its share of searches suggests. Copilot is built on Bing, and ChatGPT’s search uses Bing results, so it’s worth setting up Bing Webmaster Tools.

Can a Facebook page get me into AI answers?

It’s unlikely on its own, because much of what sits on social media is hard for search engines and AI tools to read. A website is the version of your business they can read and quote.
